You will be asked to attend a consultation with one of our nurse prescribers, during which they will carry out a medical history check, assess the area(s) of concern and agree upon a treatment plan to suit your needs. Immediately before treatment, your practitioner will take you through the consent documents and take some pre-treatment photographs. The treatment area will be cleaned, and a numbing cream or injection will be administered if required. Once the area is numbed, the injections can take around 15 minutes. The nurse prescriber will massage the area after injection, and post-treatment photos will be taken so you can see your results. You will then be given aftercare advice, which will also be emailed to you.

At the consultation, a facial examination is carried out to assess suitability. Treatment is subject to consultation. Your practitioner will discuss realistic expectations with you before treatment.

Most patients require two treatments around a month apart. This will be discussed at your consultation.

A patch test is not required for this treatment.

Sculptra contains a mild anesthetic so extra pain relief is ensured throughout the treatment. Numbing injections can also be used in some cases.

It is possible to experience some localised redness, tenderness and swelling to the area. This usually resolves within a few days. Bruising is also a possible side effect, though this is usually minimal and will take up to 7 days to resolve.

Treatment will be carried out by one of our specialist injectors.

Avoid blood-thinning medications such as aspirin and ibuprofen for at least 24 hours prior to treatment (unless instructed by your GP). Please avoid consuming alcohol for 24 hours prior and please attend without makeup.
