Pixelated Co2 laser uses laser light of varying intensities, delivered into the skin in a pixel pattern (like a chessboard). It heats up the water in the skin causing it to evaporate (ablate). These tiny wounds will form a small scab, and will slough away naturally, resurfacing the epidermis and improving the appearance of lines, wrinkles, skin texture, pigmentation and scarring. Co2 laser also stimulates the production of collagen and elastin to tighten the skin. The
pixel pattern allows for microsections of untreated skin in the area which helps the skin to heal much quicker than fully ablative co2 lasers.

All areas of the face and neck can be treated except for the eye area. Body areas can also be treated, such as knees, arms, legs and stomach.
At your consultation, your treatment goals and expectations will be discussed, the area(s) for treatment will be assessed and a treatment plan to suit your needs will be completed by one of our practitioners. You will be asked to fill in a medical history form before signing consent documents and pre-treatment photographs taken.
On the day of treatment, you will be asked to attend 30 minutes early for numbing cream to be applied. Once numb, the cream will be removed and the area will then be cleaned prior to treatment commencement. Once complete, suitable skincare is applied and aftercare advice will be given.
Co2 laser is a resurfacing and tightening treatment, making it suitable for patients looking for improvement in lines & wrinkles, skin tone, texture and scars including acne scars. Co2 is not suitable for skin types V and above. Depending on the condition of the skin, patients will see results from just one treatment, with optimum results after 3 treatments, spaced approximately 6-12 weeks apart.
A patch test for co2 is not always required but may be carried out at your request or if your practitioner suggests.
Most patients tolerate co2 laser treatment well with numbing cream. A cryo air cooler can be utilised for additional comfort throughout treatment. Skin will feel warm, tight and sensitive after treatment, like sunburn, but not painful.
Using the correct skincare advised by your practitioner will help with this. In the days following treatment, your skin will have a bronzed appearance and will begin to flake for up to 14 days post treatment.
All our laser treatments are carried out by our laser practitioners with over 10 years experience in skin and laser procedures.
We ask that you attend the clinic without make-up if treating the face, and that skin is not tanned prior to treatment. You may be advised to prepare the skin with skincare products to reduce risk of hyperpigmentation prior to treatment. You will be required to stop using some skincare products such as Obagi skincare, retinol or tretinoin for approximately one week prior to treatment.
