We can treat most parts of the body that have a tattoo present excluding semi permanent makeup. We are able to treat semi permanent makeup on the brow area with a different device.

PicoSure laser tattoo removal technology delivers energy using an ultra-short laser pulse, creating a more mechanical effect that breaks the ink into microscopic fragments while leaving the surrounding skin completely untouched. This means that PicoSure is a much more precise tattoo removal tool than traditional Q-switch lasers, requiring fewer treatments (in some cases just 3-7) and treatments can be repeated faster as the recovery time is reduced by not reaching the surrounding skin. In many cases, a tattoo made up entirely of black ink can be removed in as little as 4-8 treatments and even recalcitrant tattoos such as large amounts of blue or green can be removed easily. PicoSure is proven to remove tattoos that other lasers could not.

PicoSure is suitable for those with skin types I-IV- is suitable for black or Afro Caribbean skin. It also cannot be used for cosmetic tattoos such as eyeliner or eyebrows.

A patch test for PicoSure is not always required but may be carried out at your request or if your practitioner suggests.

Most patients tolerate laser treatment well. A cryo air cooler can be utilised for additional comfort throughout treatment. Skin will feel warm, tight and sensitive after treatment, like sunburn, but not painful.

You shouldn’t have any side effects, but if you have a history of poor wound healing or scarring talk to your practitioner at your initial consultation. There is a low risk of developing scars. After your treatment the skin may look red or itch, but this is completely normal and temporary.

Prior to your PicoSure treatment, we recommend avoiding tanning beds, sunless tanning creams and prolonged sun exposure for four weeks prior to your first appointment. We also recommend patients stop using topical retina, retinol or retinoid products 48 hours prior to treatment.
