As we age, the tone and texture of our skin changes. Fine lines and wrinkles begin to appear, age spots and blemishes may develop, and the texture of our skin can become coarse and uneven. Harmony’s Tone and Texture treatment uses light and laser-based skin resurfacing technologies to smooth out and balance the skin-improving overall skin tone, elasticity and texture and reducing superficial pigmentation and pore size, while helping to bolster the skin against future aging.
iPixel can treat skin on the face, neck, chest and hands.
The iPixel directs a short, intense burst of laser energy onto the surface of the skin. This heats water within the surface layers, causing both the water and skin tissue to turn to vapour. With each pass of the laser, tiny areas (or ‘pixels’) of the outermost layers of skin are removed in a precise and controlled way. Surrounding skin tissue is untouched and remains intact. The process uses the body’s natural healing process to stimulate the growth of collagen and replace the lost skin with new, healthy and smoother skin tissue. Because the iPixel can be targeted so precisely, it has fewer side effects than ablative resurfacing lasers. This makes it suitable for treating skin on the face, neck, chest and hands with minimal irritation.
iPixel is great for treating scarring, acne scarring, hyperpigmentation, ageing skin, sun damage and stretch marks. iPixel resurfacing treatment is suitable for skin types (I-VI). We recommend 3 treatments for photo-damaged skin and 5 treatments for severe texture damage such as acne scarring or deep set wrinkles.
A patch test for iPixel is not always required but may be carried out at your request or if your practitioner suggests.
Pixel laser treatment is generally well tolerated and virtually pain-free. You will notice some warmth and a light ‘flicking’ sensation where the laser is applied to your skin.
Pixel resurfacing treatments continue to be performed safely and effectively all over the world. There are few if any reported side effects and little or no downtime.
Discomfort during the treatment is minimal, although you may have some redness and swelling of your skin afterwards. This could last a few hours up to a couple of days. You may also notice slight peeling and flaking for one or two days following the procedure. This should disappear within about five days.
All our laser treatments are carried out by our laser practitioners with over 10 years experience in skin and laser procedures.
Patients should prepare for their treatments by avoiding any sun exposure or artificial tanning for 3-4 weeks. All Retin-A products should also be discontinued for 2 weeks as well. When patients arrive, they should not be wearing any makeup or skin care products.
