The vaginal area only is treated using Femilift.

At consultation, your suitability for treatment and individual circumstances will be discussed with your practitioner. You will be asked to complete a medical history form and lifestyle questionnaire, and a treatment plan to suit your needs will be completed. Your practitioner will discuss side effects and consent documents will be signed.
You will be asked to undress from the waist down for your treatment, positioned on the treatment bed in a position akin to a smear test or examination. Towels will be used to cover you for your comfort. A plastic sleeve is placed over the laser and inserted into the vagina using a lubricant for patient comfort. Treatment takes as little as 15 minutes to complete, your comfort levels discussed throughout. After your treatment is complete, you can re-dress and aftercare advice will be given.

Femilift is suitable for mild to moderate cases of vaginal atrophy. Your individual circumstances will be discussed with the practitioner to ascertain your suitability and likely results. Most patients will experience improvement in their condition(s), lasting up to six months following just one treatment. However, a course of three treatments (carried out every four to six weeks) is recommended to achieve optimum, longer lasting results of around 18 months.

A patch test is not required for Femilift.

Patients tolerate treatment very well, citing only mild discomfort at certain points during treatment, usually in the area nearer to the vaginal opening where there are more nerve endings. Treatment takes no more than 15 minutes to complete.

There should be no pain or discomfort following treatment, although some discharge or blood spotting is normal as degraded tissue is removed. It is necessary to avoid intercourse or use of tampons for 3-5 days following treatment to allow the vagina to heal. Your practitioner may also recommend you avoid physical exercise for a few days post treatment.

Your treatment will be carried out by an advanced laser or nurse practitioner. As one of the first clinics in the north of England to offer this treatment, all of our staff are highly experienced and receive regular re-training.

There is little you need to do to prepare for Femilift treatment. We simply ask that you not be currently menstruating when your treatment is to be carried out. Any other requirements specific to your individual medical needs will be discussed at consultation.
