Loose or sagging skin on the neck is a common concern that can worsen as the ageing process continues to reduce collagen and elastin fibres in the skin. Neck lines are horizontal lines or ‘bands’ going across the neck, sometimes called ‘necklace lines’. Largely caused by creasing the neck while looking down, lines can become visible in our 30s and become more prominent as we age. Thread lifts can be used to stimulate collagen in the area and lift the sagging skin,
giving a tighter, more toned appearance.
This is a medical regulated activity that should only be carried out at a CQC registered clinic.

You will be asked to attend a consultation with one of our nurse prescribers, during which they will carry out a medical history check, assess the area(s) of concern and agree upon a treatment plan to suit your needs. Immediately before treatment, your practitioner will take you through the consent documents and take some pre-treatment photographs. The skin will be cleaned and numbing cream or numbing injections will be administered. Once numbed, the treatment will commence. The process of inserting threads takes approximately 20-30 minutes depending on the area. After treatment, a cooling pack will be applied. You will then be given aftercare advice, which will also be emailed to you.
Thread lifts are suitable for patients wanting to lift and tighten sagging skin whilst also restoring lost volume. Threads are suitable for any skin type. Your suitability for treatment can be discussed with your practitioner at your consultation.
A patch test is not required
Numbing cream or injections are administered prior to treatment to minimise any discomfort so patients typically tolerate thread lift treatment well.
With any of our injectable treatments, it is possible to experience some localised redness, tenderness and swelling to the area. This usually resolves within a few days. Bruising is also a possible side effect, though this is usually minimal and will take up to 7 days to resolve.
All our injectable treatments are carried out only by our highly experienced nurse prescribers so you know you are in safe hands.
We advise patients to avoid blood-thinning medications such as aspirin and ibuprofen for at least 24 hours prior to treatment (unless instructed by your GP). Please avoid consuming alcohol for 24 hours prior and please attend without makeup. If you have suffered with cold sores or shingles in the past, it is advised that you take antiviral medication 2 days prior to treatment and for 3 days after to prevent a recurrence.
